Remote Deposit lets you deposit checks quickly and easily in your Champlain National Bank account using your smartphone or tablet. Stay organized without the worry of lost or misplaced checks because you can securely process them as soon as you receive them. Receive funds faster, and save time, money, and fuel with fewer trips to the bank. Bank on your schedule! Remote Deposit is only available on our Mobile Banking App.


deposit options

You will be able to deposit up to five checks per day, with a maximum of 15 checks per month. Dollar amount restrictions are $2,500 per day and $5,000 per month. Most types of checks can be deposited; however, some exclusions apply such as checks drawn on foreign banks or in foreign currency, post-dated and stale dated checks, and third-party checks.


tips for using remote deposit

You will need to download the Champlain National Bank Mobile Banking App on your smartphone or tablet.

Your endorsement on the back of each check must include: “For Remote Deposit Only” or the check may be rejected. Please print this clearly and on one line. You must also place a check mark in the Remote Deposit box if there is one.

Make sure you are snapping a clear picture of the entire check, both front and back.

You will receive a confirmation email when a deposit has been successfully transmitted.

Retain the check for 30 days after you make the deposit in a safe place. You can destroy it after the 30-day window.


funds availability

If you submit a deposit to us on a business day before 5:00 pm, the deposit will be credited to your account that day and made available the next business day. Deposits made after 5:00 pm and on non-business days (Saturday, Sunday, and federal holidays) will be credited to your account the next business day and available to you according to our Funds Availability Policy.


how we handle deposit issues

A deposit will be rejected if the check image is blurry, the check was already deposited, or if the check is not properly endorsed. You will also receive an email from us, letting you know the deposit was rejected. If you enter the check amount incorrectly, your deposit will be adjusted, and you will be notified by email.

Champlain National Bank does not charge for its Remote Deposit service. However, your wireless provider may assess data rates, and you will be responsible for those charges.


eligibility

Any personal deposit account that’s been open for at least 90 days with no history of overdrafts, returned items, or late loan payments can take advantage of Remote Deposit. You must also be at least 18 years old.


safe and secure

Keeping your accounts secure while you are online is our priority. This includes measures like 2-Step Verification, logging you out due to inactivity, and encrypting all transactions for maximum security. You’ll also receive an email and/or text message whenever there is a log in from a new device, or if you change your email address, password, mobile phone number, or username.
